Created in 1976, Santé mentale au Québec is a scientific journal published twice a year in spring and in autumn. Its orientation is psychosocial, it publishes original experimental and clinical research articles as well as a number of general-interest articles. Its principal objective is to develop knowledge in the scientific, academic and clinical communities.

In each issue, a clinical as well as a social dossier is presented. These dossiers are coordinated by guest editors, experts in the field investigated and contributors are recognized for their special contribution in this field.

The readership of Santé mentale au Québec includes clinicians, researchers, professionals, students as well as any other person involved or interested in the field of mental health.

The journal is published by Corporation Revue Santé mentale au Québec, a non-profit organization.

The journal is funded by the Ministère de la santé et des services sociaux, the Fonds Formation aux chercheurs et Aide à la recherche (FCAR) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
